What Is God For Me?

By Christopher Evan Longhurst

God, for me, is the quiet author of the beauty that unfolds,
Not robed in doctrine, but present in nature’s forms,
In the way light pushes through the morning mist,
In the slow grammar of tides, in breath, in becoming.
No voice proclaimed, yet every form feels written,
A sentence without words, a rhythm without a page.

Not a ruler above, but the source from which creation flows,
Where matter gathers itself into meaningful form,
Neither forcing nor fixing, but giving rise,
To thought, to pattern, to the wonder of existence.
If there is a name, it is written in everything,
And read not in belief, but in being and becoming.
